6th July Covid-19 update
Client Update July 6th
One health – looking after you and your pet
The current public health priority continues to affect how we are able to deliver veterinary care for your pets. We continue to restrict access to the practice for clients but we are now able to provide a complete veterinary service as usual. However, we continue to operate at a reduced capacity, so we ask for your patience and understanding when making more routine appointments as they continue to be restricted. We are unable to offer any nurse or visiting vet appointments and the East Dean surgery continues to be closed. Please do not come to the practice without calling first so we can prepare for your arrival.
By phone: 01323 640011
By email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Request vaccine appointments using the ‘book appointments’ button on our website www.stannesvets.co.uk – We hope we can find an appointment that suits you.
You can also contact us through our Facebook page, using our web chat service and via google.
We will advise you whether attendance at the practice is needed or if your problem can be solved remotely with a telephone or video consultation. These are charged at £41.56 but this is refunded if an appointment at the practice is deemed necessary.
Keeping a Social Distance
We continue to strictly enforce social distancing rules so please respect the instructions you are given at the practice. The majority of our appointments are at the St Annes Road surgery, with additional appointments now available at Willingdon and Langney, but please do not attend without an appointment. The visiting vet service will not be available but If essential for the welfare of your pet we can still do home visits.
We only allow contactless methods of card payment. We will allow contactless collection of medications, bulky goods and insulin supplies by prior arrangement from St Annes Road, Willingdon or Langney. All routine flea and worm products can be posted after pre-payment including a £4 (second class) or £5 (first class) post and packing fee. Advocate six packs can be posted with no additional charge. When necessary, delivery of food and medication will continue but we cannot promise the timescale.
At our St Annes Road surgery we have limited parking at the rear of the practice, short stay parking bays outside the practice on St Annes Road, and a client car park next to number 4 St Annes Road (two doors down the hill). During the COVID restrictions there are often clients with pets waiting on the driveway. Please only come down the drive if you have expressly been told to do so, and always drive with extreme care. If you have not been asked to park behind the practice, please use the alternative parking options.
We are currently running a reduced service with a six vet team. This allows us to reduce crowding both inside and outside the building, and limits the number of potential contacts for each of us. We follow government guidelines and use PPE, distancing and hand washing as appropriate to limit any potential contact with COVID-19. Please respect the guidance and keep your distance from our people and other clients.
All vaccination appointments are available but subject to limited capacity. We will be able to vaccinate your pet but we ask that you are patient when booking.
Looking to the future
We have been able to return to our normal range of services subject to following ‘COVID secure’ guidelines. At present we are continuing to exclude clients from the building but we are moving forward with plans for controlled and COVID secure client entry. We are currently restricted by the availability of our team, the need to employ animal handlers to replace the role that owners play inside the building, and the need to minimise close interaction of our team members.
All appointments are subject to availability and we will prioritise our pet health plan members with regard to vaccine boosters, health checks and neutering surgeries. If you are hoping to have your pet neutered please email us on email@example.com and we will contact you when we can offer a date for surgery.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Simon, Aled and Hetty.
